2010 Yuma Air Show

A distant buzz from a plane far above quites the crowd in anticipation of what is to come. A military jump team freefalls from the sky with the American flag flowing behind, while the National Anthem plays bringing the crowd to their feet with thunderous applause. A L-39 four-ship jet team formation rips through the sky baring the name and logo of a local sponsor. A sense of partriotism and community pride overwhelms the audience in way that cannot be rivaled.

The international Council of AirShows estimates that over 20 million spectators attend air shows throughout North America each year, drawing nearly twice the attendance figure of NFL football and making it the second most popular spectator sport in North America. After a record breaking year in 2009, the bar has been set high and we intend to exceed it. This year we are proud to announce, for the first time in 12 years the MCAS Yuma AirShow will feature a Jet Team as the main performer. Other exciting supporting performances include: The first ever Acro-Race in the state of Arizona, a glimpse at the future of USMC Aviation via a F-35 Joint Strike display, and a unique race between the world's fastest school bus and a historical military jet and dozens more civicial and military acts. In addition to our aerial performance we will have over 70 historical aviation displays on the ground for an up close and personal experience. We will implement an even stronger community relations tour to include an anti-drug campaign and performer apperances at local schools, hospitals and sponsor facilities.
