Military Freefall School |
The Military Free Fall School is a specialized training program within the United States military that teaches service members advanced parachuting techniques for high-altitude operations. Located at the United States Army John F. Kennedy Special Warfare Center and School in Yuma, Arizona, the school trains students in High Altitude Low Opening (HALO) and High Altitude High Opening (HAHO) parachuting. These techniques allow for stealthy infiltration into denied or sensitive areas by jumping from altitudes of up to 25,000 feet, often while carrying tactical gear. The rigorous training includes instruction in oxygen system usage, night jumps, equipment deployment, and navigation under canopy. The program is primarily attended by special operations personnel, such as Green Berets, Navy SEALs, and Air Force Special Tactics Operators, preparing them for high-risk missions in challenging environments.
